Shock absorber:
As a beginner of the RC car hobby the standard shock absorbers are absolutely adequate, but for a superior road holding tuning dampers are recommended. In addition you can use springs of different hardness grades to suit the driving surface.
Tuning motor regulator
A powerful tuning engine with aluminium plate and cooling fins only makes sense if the rest of the RC car has been modified to a high load. Of course, replace the mechanical regulator with an electronic one for the tuning version.
Drive shaft
Likewise an important tuning measure for the RC Car engine is the specially hardened drive shaft with little friction loss.
Gearbox
Replace the fast wearing plastic main gear wheel with a metal one. A wise tuning investment for the RC Car is also the installation of a slip clutch, since this separates the engine overload from the drive train.
Drive belt
You can replace the original drive belt with a reinforced tuning belt. Tip: Place the drive belt in cockpit spray overnight so that it becomes more pliable and the drive train smoother running.
Anti-roll bar
The anti-roll bar provides better handling of the RC model car. When turning, it lessens the grip of the rear axle and therefore steers in sharper. When accelerating, the RC car has better rear handling, starts faster and swerves less.
Tyres
For extreme outdoor driving the standard plastic rims are too weak and should be replaced with metal rims. Very important are special tyres for the RC car; these enhanced tyres have more grip and can accelerate faster.
Steering
Replace the plastic bushes in the steering with ball bearings. With an extra tuning system the overthrow of the wheels can be adjusted and therefore the cornering of the RC car can be altered. A special carbon fibre wishbone is lighter and more stable than plastic. The aluminium steering arm support is stronger and more precise than the standard plastic one. Special power steering with a metal gearbox is a must for an RC tuned car.
Replace all plastic and bronze sleeve bearings of your RC cars in axles, steering and gearboxes with ball bearings. Tip: first clean all ball bearings with Motorcleaner and then grease them with special oil.
Differential
As a further tuning measure substitute the bevel gear differential with a ball bearing differential which can, in effect, infinitely lock. The standard steel balls can be replaced with maintenance free carbide balls.
Chassis
Use a base plate made of carbon fibre. This is lighter, more durable and firmer compared to the original plate
Coachwork
For the visual appearance of the cars it is of course necessary to have a new coachwork. With these tuning parts and tips for your RC cars the competitors no longer have a chance.
